Facts on Insurance and Payment for Medical Services
We believe that a clear understanding of financial matters is necessary to achieve a good doctor-patient relationship. Many patients have the mistaken idea that insurance carriers are responsible for complete payment of their health care fees and that it is the doctor’s responsibility to see that these benefits are paid.
Actually, your insurance carrier is only obligated to you, and expenses are reimbursed according to the terms and conditions of your policy. Therefore, the payment of fees is the responsibility of the patient. Please remember, no one insurance covers “everything” or “100%”. We handle all insurances paperwork as a courtesy to our patients.
Since it is your account, you will receive a statement even when insurance is filed, except for Medicare. Payments for your office visit is requested at the time of service, Patients are also responsible for all co-payments and deductibles at each visit. We accept cash, check, VISA and Master Card. We do not want to cause any embarrassment or hardship. Please speak with your patient relations staff if you have a question or a problem at (239) 433-4014.
